What a great place! This place has so much personality it is just amazing. The walls are filled with old lunch boxes and thermos' - old weird ones too :)

It has been open here for 75+ years and has a great feel when you walk in. Not to mention the food was excellent. I had the biscuit and gravy and some eggs. It was a huge serving size, but I bet a lot of people eat every bit. I ate a whole biscuit and got into the second one. The biscuits were so soft and perfect texture and the sausage was not too spicy and just good. The gravy was not as white as you normally see, but it had no bad impact on the experience. I can't get over how good it was. The best I have ever had - ever!

I will most certainly go here if I am back this way. I am really debating on going back again tomorrow :)

I had the Beginning Burger and it was great!! It was just a regular burger with american cheese and normal lettuce, tomato, and pickle toppings. The buns were very tasty and the fries were very crispy and perfectly cooked.

They had a ton of interesting combinations on the menu and everyone who was with me there also enjoyed their food. They got nachos for an appetizer, but it had jalapeños so I didn't have any.

Great service as well and a nice clean restaurant. There was a bit of a line when we got there but the wait was about 15 minutes. Not bad at all.

If I come back here and have the chance to go out for dinner I will certainly keep this place in mind!!

Farmhouse Chicken & Donuts – Middleburg, FL

This place was AMAZING!!!!  We got a couple things and they were all very good.  They were:

  • Redd Foxx
  • Apple Fritter

The Redd Foxx is a fried chicken breast on a glaze donut bun.  It comes with wedges or fries and we all got wedges.  These wedges were amazing in their own right.  The chicken breast was slightly dry, but the glaze on the donut got caramelized and that was super good.  You could tell that the donuts were made fresh, they just have a much better taste then something like DD or KK.

The apple fritters were excellent as well.  They were a little too big but has very good flavor.  The only thing to note is that I did not get any pieces of actual apple.  But, for me, that makes it perfect!!!  I actually don't love cooked fruit so, again, it was great.  I usually cook them in the microwave for 30 second and it heats it up just enough.  The glaze is like what was on the donut and it is a little sweeter than I have found at other places, but not overboard.

Now, the bad news...  If you want to eat you must get there very close to when they open.  Also, the seating arrangement is very tight and not too many tables, I think there were 6.  We actually got ours to go so we didn't have to worry too much about it.  Also, it did take a good bit of time to get the food.

Magnetic Lightning Charger

This is an adapter that allows you to have a magnetic charging connection similar to the Mac Air power charging connection.  IT IS AWESOME!!!!  It is very small and basically has a lightning adapter that stays in your phone or tablet and there is an adapter that also goes onto the charge cable that attaches to the phone connection magnetically.

There are several manufacturers and types for this, but I got this one specifically because of the cost and the fact that you could still use your Apple lightning cable since I have so many of them.  I feel like this will be a much better, or easier, way for connecting charging cables.  With some, like the lightning cable it does not have an orientation, but for the types that do, this is going to be awesome.  I am going to see if they make other types of connection for sure and I am also going to purchase more of these :)

Update: So, I have been using this for a while and it seems like the iPad doesn't love the connector, keeps telling me it is not an authentic device.  I am also now having an issue with my new case on my iPhone 6S Plus not liking the connector.  The case I have is a Moment Lens case so I am not sure what the issue is.  I love the idea and I hope that they perfect this and make more connection types, but for now just my father is using it for his phone and that seems to be working out great for him.  Much easier for him to use it than inserting the regular charger.

I have not used this much yet. But there is a YouTuber who uses it all the time, my inspiration for getting it, and she loves it. She now has the newer version of this, but she used this one for some time. It has a fisheye lens so the result is a little different from other cameras. I like the uniqueness and plan to use it when I vlog.

2015 – Year in Review

I have noticed that so many people have been wishing for a better 2016, but no matter how much junk I went through I had a pretty good year. I had several great trips and lots of good times with the family and even welcomed 3 new members - the puppies :)

Don't get me wrong, there are some things I would have really rather avoided, but there really is no use dwelling on those things in the past that you can not change.

I am happy about the friends I have and new friends I made this year. There are really good people out there and I am glad to know them!!

I am happy that I have this website again, it wasn't cool how I ended up with it, but again, oh well.
My brothers and I went on a great trip to Washington DC and I had a great trip to West Virginia.
I am going to be blogging and vlogging this year a lot more. I am looking into new equipment, but what I already have will work for now.

It is the last day of the year and currently 20:52 and I can hear the neighbors setting off fireworks. I am sitting in my bed with Archer on the TV and just trying to reflect on the year. I am having a hard time remembering anything before September and that is OK. I really look forward to this coming year and all the rest I will have.

Sorry this wasn't as amazing as I had imagined, but it is the best I can do right now. I have a major headache that I have had like all day long.

This is a photo printer by Canon, where the largest size is 4x6 print or postcard.  This is a wireless printer but can also take an SD card and also USB.  I am not a huge fan of the wireless printing just because I usually don't have great luck with it.  With this printer I had really good luck printing pictures that were taken on my iPhone from my MacBook wirelessly.  This printer will do full pictures, no border that is, but I actually like the ones that do have the border.  I just think it looks better.  Printing directly from the iPhone I have not figured out how to get the border, I can only get it from the MacBook.  But the good thing is that, at least with the iPhone, it was easy to get printing - same with the MacBook.  I did try for a couple minutes to print from my Windows 10 computer, but was not successful and didn't play with it anymore and I do plan on getting that to work.

The price was reasonable and the paper, which comes with the ink cartridge, is also reasonable.  I purchased mine from Amazon and it totaled around $137.  It is certainly more expensive then going to a place like Walgreens, but it is in your home and you might be more likely to actually get a picture printed.  Plus it is so small that you could actually take it with you like on vacation or something.  I can imagine if you were into scrap booking it would be perfect.

This is my first photo quality printer and so far I really do like it and recommend it to anyone who is looking to make high quality prints at home - and who doesn't need a multi-function printer.

Update: I used this a TON a couple weeks ago to print out pictures for my project and it did a great job!!  I did print from my Mac and the only downside is that you can not send a ton at a time, you have to be patient and send like one, wait for it to print and then send the next one.
