Day 10 – Oil from a Coconut

I am about to leave the house to travel to Baltimore for work. I have the same sort of schedule as last week where I am doing 6 training classes over 3 days.

I have a huge tub of coconut oil that I currently use exclusively for my hands and face, although you can use it for almost anything. I got enough to mess around with it and see if some of the uses work for me, but I haven’t done anything yet :) Story of my life I suppose!

I originally was going to wear just jeans for this training, but I decided to pack slacks in case I feel underdressed. I don’t mind wearing the nicer clothes but I kinda want to wear jeans when it’s cold out I guess. Who knows :)

I am not sure if the person going with me synced up flights with me, not that it is a big deal. We are staying near the airport so I don’t have to rent a car or anything. I do really need to order a prescription – which is close to the hotel – maybe the shuttle will take me or someone there will. I should have already had it filled, but I didn’t pay attention to how low I was on my pills :) The struggle is real!!!!

Alright I am going to finish getting ready and head on out.

Day 9 – The Day of Pipes and Wood!!

Today Carlos, Paul, and I did a small project. I wanted a shelf and I saw an idea online where you could use metal piping to make the shelf brackets. I love the look and so that is what we did. I do need to refine it a bit, but I have a shelf and that was what I really wanted :)

Paul has also been commissioned to put my new stickers on my laptop :) He is doing a great job and is almost done. I am loving it!!

I think that I am going to try to get some of the other family members to write blogs or contribute to the content on the website. Paul and Carlos contribute in other ways, but content would be nice :)

Today I am also doing laundry for my trip tomorrow. I thought I was leaving out very early but it is like 13:30 so I shouldn’t be rushed tomorrow at all.

I will add a picture here in a bit. Easier to do that via my MacBook so I will do it as soon as I get it back.

As promised :)

Day 8 – A First Class Kinda Day

Well, I did not sleep very much or well last night :( This is getting really old, but I guess it is good that I can still manage to make it all through the day without being too tired. Basically I am saying it could be worse.

I got first class on the flight so that was very nice :) On such a short flight it doesn’t make that much difference but it just makes me happy – who wouldn’t be right :)

When I got home I had a bunch of packages waiting for me so that is always very nice. I got my new camcorder and new microphone were the big things. This microphone is gigantic but I hope that it is going to sound really good!

I was very happy to see my parents and those stinking puppies!!!! They are so sweet and I did miss them a lot this time.

I had gotten a new coffee travel mug and I have used it about half a dozen times and I just love it. It is made by Thermos and it really works great! I got a coffee in Atlanta at 08:00 and finished it as 12:00 and it was still hot! You can’t ask for more than that and the other thing I really like about it is that the cup doesn’t get hot to the touch – not even a little bit. Awesome!!!

Alright, I am going to finish catching up on website stuff or maybe even more organization stuff. I really need a shelf for the wall where I can put my lamp because it is dark over in this corner! If I manage to figure something out I will add a picture to this.

Day 7 – The Day at the REDI

Today we had an important meeting at the training center in Atlanta and I think it went pretty well. At the very least it was a smooth demo on my part!

I am hoping today I can convince my ride to take me by Starbucks and I can get a coffee since I haven’t had one for lots of days :)

Today is a half day basically, I am going to head back to the hotel soon and make sure no one there has any issues and then they all leave so there won’t really be anything left to do. We fly out early in the morning so I should get home at a good time.

Overall this trip has been pretty great. As usual the guys are very polite and just funny as can be. I am looking forward to the next two weeks where we will train the rest of the group!

Maybe I will write more tonight but that is basically all I have for right now!!!

Day 6 – BINGO

Today was the last day I had classes for the construction folks and I am worn out! I slept all night but it didn’t seem very restful. I have been packing a lot of information into the classes and it was great, just exhausting.

We went to dinner at a cajun place who loved to make everything spicy but it was good, I had fried shrimp. Our whole table had it as a matter of fact!

When we got back to the hotel the group was playing BINGO and let me tell you I was shocked at the turnout – almost everyone was there. I didn’t win anything and wasn’t really even close and I was cheating by playing 5 cards :)

Well I have a really early morning tomorrow so I am going to call it a night – bye y’all!!!

Day 5 – The Day of the Pig

Today was another good day but it is certainly cold here! I was inside almost all day, but it was cold in here too. I slept a little better last night, but not great.

We had dinner at a BBQ place and it was good, but I hardly ate any of the pork I got. Who I went with was hilarious. Good times with the RR folks! We walked to the restaurant and let me tell you it was freezing. I was so cold and it was just a little farther than I would have liked :)

Bye!!!

Day 4 – No Sleeps for the Tired

So last night I was not able to sleep but for a couple hours. This is getting OLD!!!!! I don’t know what it is, maybe I need to unplug from technology earlier then I already am. I am sure I will figure it out soon.

Today was a pretty good day, I talked to much in the training that my throat hurts a bit, but that is OK. I didn’t know what to do for dinner so I just ordered a pizza – good ole standby :)

Alright, I am going to wrap this up so I can do the travel blog – so busy!!

Day 3 – Travel Size Life

Today, right now, I am doing laundry and packing and listening to a podcast.  Multi tasking the crap out of this day :)

I am traveling to Atlanta today and the hardest thing I am faced with is deciding how to do the blog thing.  I want to continue to do my travel inspired blogs as separate things from my regular blog, but I guess I am just going to have to be creative on the content of the regular daily blog…

I am a little sad to be leaving my sweet puppies, but I am always glad to travel for vacation and even for work.  In packing today I am using all my cool stuffs, new luggage, clothes packs and just all those little gadgets that make this a little easier.

Welcome to 2016 in that before I travel now I must charge so many devices, my Beats, Kindle, iPad, iPhone, MacBook, mouse, camera, and my watch!  Today is a little different because I am having to do laundry today which in reality I should have done it yesterday.  I am not really pushing my time, but I would have rather been packed last night or earlier than just now at 15:11 when I need to leave here at 16:30.  About the only thing left now is putting the last bit of laundry away and taking a shower :)

It took me forever to find the purse that I have now and I am not even 100% in love with it.  I got a Kate Spade Cobble Hill cross body.  I love the bag the thing that I don’t like is just that there is a little bit of chain on the strap and I just don’t like that look.  The reason I bring it up is that my mom loves my wallet that goes with the purse.  I have been looking for one for her and can’t find one.  Now I am debating on getting a new one except it won’t really match and that just drives me crazy!!  Such problems :)

OK, I need to get going on my shower and maybe I will blog some more when I get to Atlanta or maybe that will be on the travel one :)

Day 2 – The Bunnies of the Dust Type Take Over!!

Today I got my new monitor so I had to move out my old desk and put up my new temporary desk, just a little table, and mount the new monitor and move the other one.  Not loving the angle of the top monitor, but now that I am working and watching YouTube I think it might actually be better because I won’t focus more on that than what I am doing :)

Also today I took my mom to the base so she could drop off some prescriptions and on the way back we stopped at the store and got her a brand new phone and handed down hers to my dad!  Now we are all on iPhones and me and my dad have 6 plus and mom has a 6.  I am kinda proud of it considering my dad is 85 and my mom is 75 :)

I need to post the pictures of my desk on here, the desk that I am building.  I am proud of it, but it should have already been done :(  I am hoping that this temporary desk will motivate me to finish my real one!!

I decided today that I was really going to try to blog everyday this year.  If you have read these blogs before you will know that I have been horrible at blogging, but I am making it a priority!  I am not going to call this a resolution because there are so many other things I want to do different this year, but I am not organized enough to start right now.  The other major thing I want to do is change my eating habits in a real way.  Having meal plans for my and my folks, something that we can really stick to and not feel overwhelmed by the effort it takes to eat better.  I will certainly be talking about that more in these blogs.

I have been having a couple issues that have really messed me up lately.  I have been taking a new medication that is supposed to help me sleep, but a side affect is increased appetite.  Well lately I haven’t even been sleeping good at all so I have decided that the side affect was not worth it.  I was where I would not feel full and I would eat like 6 full meals a day for the last 2 weeks.  Not good!!!

Alright, I am going to wrap this up and try to go to bed earlier tonight.  I need to go fix me a water so I can take my meds and get in that bed :)

Day 1 – The Year of the Leap

That’s right it’s January 1 of 2016 and this is a leap year. An easy way to remember what year is a leap year is that it is always the presidential election year. Anyway that has really nothing to do with this blog but I needed to tie in the catchy title :)

Today was a pretty good day overall even if I am running on very little sleep. Carlos came over this morning so we could go to Best Buy to look at cameras. On our way we got some yummy Starbucks :) I was convinced that I was going to end up with a DSLR, but after about an hour and a half we decided on a camcorder. The specific one I got was $215 and we decided to do a 2 camera scenario. I already have a wider angle camcorder and this new one would be more versatile for close up and portrait stuff. I also ended up getting my mom a new FitBit. Her’s was one you wore on your wrist, but it had a strange buckle not like a normal watch. It was extremely hard for her to get on and hard for me to put it on her. So the one we got has a normal watch like buckle.

Then on the way back we stopped and got some Panda Express for lunch – Orange Chicken, YUMMY!!!!!

I ordered a couple more things for my setup for blogging and vlogging. Oh yeah and I got some stuff to try to help train these new little puppies. They are not house broken and they are a bit older than I would have liked to teach them this lesson. I think they are like 8 months old. They are the sweetest little things, but full of so much energy!
