Day 14 – The Hotel Life

Today I am going to spend the whole day in the hotel! I am in bed right now and have been all morning. I have got to get some sleep and I am just going to try to nap throughout the day. I ordered some pizza to be delivered in about a half hour so just in time for lunch.

I have been looking for ideas on finishing my desk the best way and I think I have it. I am going to use the piping that I used on my new shelf that way I think I can get the top perfectly level and also be able to incorporate lighting and shelves above the desk. I am getting very excited about this and hope I can make it happen with what we have already done with the desk. More importantly I think it will be strong enough to hold it up.

I am going to head down to the lobby to get my pizza but will write more later I am sure.

Day 13 – The Last Days of the East

So today is the last day of training for the eastern region. It has gone really good so far and I am happy with the level of participation and how well everyone is picking up on the program.

With all that said I a so tired today. This is proving to be pretty taxing on me and it doesn’t help that I am still not sleeping. Tomorrow I will be able to relax a little bit.

I had dinner here at the hotel tonight, just a burger and fries and some chocolate cake for dessert :) It was all pretty good. Talk about good dessert, the lunch we had today was really good and they had some amazing tiramisu. I have really been craving some coffee this week, but because I didn’t rent a car there isn’t much I can do about it!

Everyone here is going a little bananas over this powerball being a billion dollars. It is crazy but I still can’t bring myself to get a ticket – I have no idea why. I can sure think of all the things I would do with it that’s for sure :)

Day 12 – Pizza and Beer!!

Well, pizza and Coke not beer :)

Had my what has turned into weekly pizza for dinner. Was supposed to go over and play bingo with the guys but decided to call it an early night. Which for me lately does not equal an early bed time. I have been sleeping so poorly it is crazy.

Supposedly it snowed here today – I went outside and didn’t see it but right now it is crazy windy. Hope there is no tornado!

Had a good training session today. I tried to go in late and get some sleep but that didn’t work. I didn’t have to go down in the morning but I wasn’t able to sleep much more.

Tomorrow is the last class this week but I am here until Friday just to make sure no one has any issues. That reminds me, I have got to ,are sure they keep my room for me for another day.

These trips have gone so well that I really wish we could do the same thing for the maintenance side. The group I am working with now is construction. Every group has been great!!

Alright I am gonna call it quits for the night – goodnight!!

Day 11 – The Day of the Three C’s!!

Well not quite 3 C’s but it’s better than 3 K’s!! So that would be Crab Cakes, Coconut Oil, and Kit Kat – ha ha ha!!!!

Had dinner at a place called the Olive Grove and had crab cakes and Alfredo. That’s two dishes, the crab cakes were appetizers so just a little bit of that. Went with a bunch of the managers here in the East, as always everyone is super nice.

I needed to pick up my prescriptions tonight and like 6 people offered to take me. So very nice! Just like in Beckley I went to the wrong Walgreens first! Just like In WV the person who took me wasn’t too upset :)

Alright I am exhausted, didn’t sleep well last night and was yawning all day so I am gonna go to bed!!

Day 10 – Oil from a Coconut

I am about to leave the house to travel to Baltimore for work. I have the same sort of schedule as last week where I am doing 6 training classes over 3 days.

I have a huge tub of coconut oil that I currently use exclusively for my hands and face, although you can use it for almost anything. I got enough to mess around with it and see if some of the uses work for me, but I haven’t done anything yet :) Story of my life I suppose!

I originally was going to wear just jeans for this training, but I decided to pack slacks in case I feel underdressed. I don’t mind wearing the nicer clothes but I kinda want to wear jeans when it’s cold out I guess. Who knows :)

I am not sure if the person going with me synced up flights with me, not that it is a big deal. We are staying near the airport so I don’t have to rent a car or anything. I do really need to order a prescription – which is close to the hotel – maybe the shuttle will take me or someone there will. I should have already had it filled, but I didn’t pay attention to how low I was on my pills :) The struggle is real!!!!

Alright I am going to finish getting ready and head on out.

Day 9 – The Day of Pipes and Wood!!

Today Carlos, Paul, and I did a small project. I wanted a shelf and I saw an idea online where you could use metal piping to make the shelf brackets. I love the look and so that is what we did. I do need to refine it a bit, but I have a shelf and that was what I really wanted :)

Paul has also been commissioned to put my new stickers on my laptop :) He is doing a great job and is almost done. I am loving it!!

I think that I am going to try to get some of the other family members to write blogs or contribute to the content on the website. Paul and Carlos contribute in other ways, but content would be nice :)

Today I am also doing laundry for my trip tomorrow. I thought I was leaving out very early but it is like 13:30 so I shouldn’t be rushed tomorrow at all.

I will add a picture here in a bit. Easier to do that via my MacBook so I will do it as soon as I get it back.

As promised :)

Frankenstein

Frankenstein Book Cover Frankenstein
Mary Shelley
1818
Kindle

This is not normally the type of book that I read, but I figured it would be a good change since it is such a classic story. I found it very entertaining. Anytime I read a book that takes place in other countries is pronouncing people's names or cities but that never makes it a bad story, just a little harder for me to follow. The story was very interesting and different from the movie, which is very normal.

It did seem to drag a bit towards the end, but I really think that was because I had watched the movies and was just waiting for the end to happen. The extra parts were interesting and the story of the monster, basically that was where the new material came from, was very detailed and showed his journey and his learning experiences. Always, when I am watching a move or reading a story that has a major component of mass revenge or total misunderstanding of people's actions it makes me a bit uncomfortable, but it is a real and relatable thing. It happens all the time and all over and as the story shows, for all time periods.

Overall I would recommend this book to everyone, just need to read the whole story and when you understand the history of it the experience is that much more amazing. The history I am talking about is that the whole idea was a vacation activity for a group of people. They had a friendly activity to create a short story and this was Mary Shelley's. Pretty amazing how creative some people really are.

Day 8 – A First Class Kinda Day

Well, I did not sleep very much or well last night :( This is getting really old, but I guess it is good that I can still manage to make it all through the day without being too tired. Basically I am saying it could be worse.

I got first class on the flight so that was very nice :) On such a short flight it doesn’t make that much difference but it just makes me happy – who wouldn’t be right :)

When I got home I had a bunch of packages waiting for me so that is always very nice. I got my new camcorder and new microphone were the big things. This microphone is gigantic but I hope that it is going to sound really good!

I was very happy to see my parents and those stinking puppies!!!! They are so sweet and I did miss them a lot this time.

I had gotten a new coffee travel mug and I have used it about half a dozen times and I just love it. It is made by Thermos and it really works great! I got a coffee in Atlanta at 08:00 and finished it as 12:00 and it was still hot! You can’t ask for more than that and the other thing I really like about it is that the cup doesn’t get hot to the touch – not even a little bit. Awesome!!!

Alright, I am going to finish catching up on website stuff or maybe even more organization stuff. I really need a shelf for the wall where I can put my lamp because it is dark over in this corner! If I manage to figure something out I will add a picture to this.

Day 7 – The Day at the REDI

Today we had an important meeting at the training center in Atlanta and I think it went pretty well. At the very least it was a smooth demo on my part!

I am hoping today I can convince my ride to take me by Starbucks and I can get a coffee since I haven’t had one for lots of days :)

Today is a half day basically, I am going to head back to the hotel soon and make sure no one there has any issues and then they all leave so there won’t really be anything left to do. We fly out early in the morning so I should get home at a good time.

Overall this trip has been pretty great. As usual the guys are very polite and just funny as can be. I am looking forward to the next two weeks where we will train the rest of the group!

Maybe I will write more tonight but that is basically all I have for right now!!!

Day 6 – BINGO

Today was the last day I had classes for the construction folks and I am worn out! I slept all night but it didn’t seem very restful. I have been packing a lot of information into the classes and it was great, just exhausting.

We went to dinner at a cajun place who loved to make everything spicy but it was good, I had fried shrimp. Our whole table had it as a matter of fact!

When we got back to the hotel the group was playing BINGO and let me tell you I was shocked at the turnout – almost everyone was there. I didn’t win anything and wasn’t really even close and I was cheating by playing 5 cards :)

Well I have a really early morning tomorrow so I am going to call it a night – bye y’all!!!
